Barbès mon amour

Barbès mon amour

Barbès. Its tangled and crowded streets, multicoloured clothes and spicy fragrances. And suddenly, bang in the middle of the mayhem, la rue des Gardes, with a studio home to a dozen designers. Among them, a flamboyant woman: Sakina M'Sa.

Her particularity ? She buys second-hand boiler suits at Emmaüs, cuts them up and patches them with African cloth and colourful silks, bringing them back to life as bags or miniskirts. Sakina is extending an invitation to her private sales. Come over for a Tea Party and brunch in her workshop. Up for grabs : stunning figure-hugging dresses, striking colours... That's Fashion Week in Barbès for you.

Rummage for vintage

Rummage for vintage

Vintage accessories are guaranteed to cause a sensation. A worn-out pouch, branded silk scarf and a 1930s frock all score a few points when you proclaim you rummaged through a brocante to find them. The thing is, you don't really know how to tell synthetic tulle from old fashioned lace. Book an appointment with the high priestess of vintage.
