A tandem in Paris

A tandem in Paris

30 years ago, a very simple idea popped up in the mind of a young Parisian. How about getting two people, a clear-sighted and a blind person, to peddle together on a tandem ? Today, up to 40 tandems crisscross country roads and peddle down back lanes, pilots guiding their copilots. Why not give it a go ?

Jaseem, president of the STAARP association and a real cycling-addict, is there this weekend for tandem trials. This may be your chance to become a pilot for the blind. Get to grips with setting off, braking and share your impressions of the passing landscape : « On your right, there's a beautiful village church. In front of us, a large field with haystacks. In 100 meters, we'll turn onto a bumpy narrow path.» Ready ? Off you go !

To become a tandem pilot, contact the STAARP association : Jaseem at 06 51 74 72 06 or Mao at 06 74 88 25 41.
You're the kind of person who prefers music to peddling ? Become a salsa, swing or tango partner calling Leïla of "Danse un pas à deux" at 06 15 62 04 26.
